Our most anticipated project reveal to date..Our Cali Caj Project was a fan favorite on social media, especially the Primary Suite. So let’s kick the reveal off this with jaw dropping transformation! Let me start off by saying…we had 8 weeks to complete a 3400 square foot COMPLETE transformation remodel. Yes, you read that right…and YES…it took 3 years off my life! But we did it and my clients moved in on time and to a mostly completed home!

When we started designing this space we knew we wanted a cool crisp feel, layered with different elements and textures. The board and batten accent wall was a must in this space to make it feel a little more refined. It has the classic look but with the modern colors and lines. Adding the brass pendent lights just brought in the much needed warmth. We love to mix wood tones any chance we get so bringing in the more earthy wood tones mixed with the rich black wood was the perfect balance.

As you turn the corner, you walk immediately into the primary bathroom, and this is where magic was created! We kept the existing layout for the most part, just updated. The shower felt very closed in so we removed some walls around to open it up. There was also a make up vanity that my client would never use so we turn that into a floor to ceiling linen storage with built in hampers. This marble floor tile does all the talking. This sets the tone for this Refined California Casual style (hence the project name!). We went with a classic pure white cabinet color that doesn’t fight with the floor and a very marbled quartzite countertop in a muted gray tone.

Again, it’s all about the textures and layers, and adding this subtle grasscloth wallpaper behind the vanities broke up all the drywall in this space. The mix of brass lighting and the oversized black arched mirrors was a beautiful pairing.

The shower was dark and dreary before we worked our magic. But with this large format porcelain tile that looks like a marble, and the light tones throughout really opened the shower up. The brass fixtures simply finished off this overall vibe.
